A Night to Remember

For over three decades, West African Ceramics Limited (WACL) has stood as a pillar in Nigeria’s building materials industry. Beyond producing premium tiles, adhesives, grouts, granite, and natural marble, the company has fueled national growth — creating jobs, empowering craftsmen, supporting communities, innovating for sustainability, and continually investing in Nigeria’s future.

But WACL’s role in the built environment goes deeper. They have been a steadfast ally of the Nigerian Institute of Architects Abuja Chapter (NIAABC). This partnership is more than sponsorship — it is a shared vision built on trust, respect, and a common mission to inspire spaces and elevate the profession.

As the Chapter Chair, Arc. Yemi Sola-Adebiyi, FNIA expressed during the celebrations, this bond is not only strong — it grows stronger every single day.

Echoing that sentiment, Mr. Franklin Jose, MD of WACL, highlighted the company’s guiding belief: “Quality Meets Elegance.” He emphasized how this principle aligns perfectly with the NIA’s passion for design excellence and progress. He also specifically mentioned about the new app Tiles Visualizer the first to be introduced in Nigeria, where Architects can easily select their designs or upload the space and create concept. As part of the evening the New Onyx Natural Marbles was also launched

The 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM) Gala Night of the NIA Abuja Chapter was far more than an evening of entertainment. It became a symbol of appreciation and partnership. From the elegance of the venue to the energy of the guests, from laughter to heartfelt words, the atmosphere was filled with unity and gratitude. Architects, stakeholders, and supporters gathered not only to conclude the AGM but to honor those who drive the profession forward.

At the center of it all was West African Ceramics Ltd — an organization whose enduring commitment continues to inspire the Nigerian built environment.

MORE THAN TILES, MORE THAN GRANITE

For over 30 years, WACL has delivered premium building solutions — but their true legacy lies in the lives they’ve touched:

  • Employment & Job Creation: Thousands of Nigerians empowered through direct and indirect jobs.
  • Youth Sponsorship: Supporting education and craftsmanship to build the next generation of industry leaders.
  • Partnership with Professionals: Walking side by side with architects and construction leaders in driving national progress.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility: From numerous initiatives, a standout was the recent electrification of Baban Tunga community, giving families and children renewed hope for a brighter future

This Gala Night was a celebration not only of architecture but also of these shared values — innovation, resilience, and excellence

As a major sponsor of The Chronicles of Construction (TCOC), WACL also continues to amplify professional voices and promote innovation within the built environment. Their support ensures that stories of progress and inspiration reach audiences across Nigeria and beyond.

The night reminded us of something essential: architects are not only creators of drawings, buildings, and technical solutions — they also know how to celebrate, connect, and, indeed, “Architects do it in Style.”

With the Gala Night, the NIA Abuja Chapter 41st Annual General Meeting came to a grand close — a celebration of partnership, progress, and the enduring bond between the Chapter and West African Ceramics Limited.

At The Chronicles of Construction, we are proud and grateful for WACL’s trust and support. Their commitment proves how powerful it is when industry leaders step forward to give professionals, innovations, and stories within the built environment the visibility they deserve.

For us, this partnership goes beyond sponsorship — it is about shaping narratives, inspiring audiences, and leaving a lasting mark on the history of the built environment.

This is The Chronicles of Constructionthe art of building, the soul of storytelling.
