In a remarkable show of corporate social responsibility, West African Ceramics Ltd has once again reaffirmed its dedication to improving lives and fostering community well-being. The company recently donated and commissioned a 30,000-litre water facility — featuring a 27,000-litre capacity of clean, consumable water, complete with a modern water treatment plant and purification system — to the Oguro community in Kogi State.

For years, residents of Oguro faced the daily struggle of fetching water from the distant River Niger, exposing themselves to risks of cholera and other water-borne diseases, but on Tuesday, 29th October 2025, that narrative changed forever. The air was filled with joy, music, and heartfelt gratitude as the new water facility was officially handed over to the community — a moment that will be remembered for generations.

“We used to trek long distances to fetch water from the river, and sometimes our children fell ill from drinking unsafe water,” said a grateful mother and beneficiary, her eyes glistening with emotion. “Today, we can only thank West African Ceramics Ltd. for remembering us. May God continue to bless and grow their company.”

Our correspondent, Anne David, who was on ground to cover the event, described the atmosphere as “a true celebration of relief and hope”.

The commissioning ceremony was graced by community leaders, representatives of West African Ceramics Ltd, and the distinguished Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem (FCMA, MBA, LLB), Member, House of Representatives, representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, who officially commissioned the project.

In his remarks, Hon. Abdulraheem commended West African Ceramics Ltd for their thoughtful gesture, noting that “water is not just essential for living but vital for community growth, health, and productivity.”

At The Chronicles of Construction, we echo that sentiment wholeheartedly — because, in both life and construction, water is indispensable. Every brick laid, every tile produced, every foundation mixed — all depend on water and just as water sustains the construction process, it sustains the lives of those who make it possible.

This noble act by West African Ceramics Ltd reminds us that true progress is not only measured in structures built but in lives transformed.

We at The Chronicles of Construction raise our glasses — of clean water — in salute to West African Ceramics Ltd for their exemplary leadership in community development.
